Why Current Affairs: Current Affairs, by its very name has been a crucial constituent of an aspirant’s platter. Every year UPSC is negating its own trend when it comes to Current Affairs Questions. As noted in previous 3 year’s Preliminary Examination, UPSC is still very keen on current affairs, but there is no repetition in the pattern of Current affairs questions. In Prelims 2015 & 2016 current affairs were more like SSC current affairs, where as in 2017, all hell broke loose, when UPSC just TWISTED current affairs questions, and as a result most of us could not cross Cutoff” If cutoff changes every year, why not our preparation strategy?? is the question of the hour. The truth is one can’t think of qualifying the exam by ignoring current affairs. Rather, one must adapt itself to the trends UPSC is creating these days. UPSC trend is just like Global Warming, ‘it may rain in Christmas and Snow in August now’. So rather than making hue and cry, we should make concrete plans to face it.
